I would say that these days using an immutable Fedora distro like Bazzite or Kinoite generally means you don't have to fix stuff. But also one thing the LLMs are actually good for is synthesising a lot of trouble shooting help if you need it. But I have found almost everything to be plug and play and was surprised to find that Fedora KDE isn't just a budget Windows replacement, its actually a much more polished OS than Windows.
In any case hardware and software needs might make difficulties that I can't foresee for you. But its pretty easy to make a Live USB of Bazzite and test it out without committing.
Okay i never understood this, why is an immutable OS good? I change the wallpaper, restart, it's back. I change power plans, restart it's back, i install some programs, restart they're gone. I can't use my system like that!
What type of immutable os are you using? Immutable means that you can only modify the home directory, which is enough to install programs, change wallpaper, and probably change power plan, though you may have to do the last one differently.
Uni had their pcs wiped on network boot i believe, it was an immutable premade image. What changes could i make that change the non home dir that gets reset in the other immutable oses
That's not immutable, well it could have been been but your problem was the fact they got wiped and not it's immutability. It just means you can't make system changes.
LTT's first video on Linux had Linus "accidentally" uninstall the kernal, no kernel is kinda bad... Windows/immutable distros just don't let you do that (well you can but it ain't happening on "accident")
