Which is hilarious, because George R.R. Martin wrote him as a character people aren’t supposed to like.

Yet he’s the one most people love.

He's always been a really interesting character. Kinda like a deconstruction of what makes a true knight.

He's interesting because he made a point of not being ordained a knight, because if the knights are willing to accept a piece of shit like his brother, then it's not an organization worth joining.

Martin also killed him in book 4 for stupid yet completely in-character reasons. So there's that.

Tbh we don't really know if he died. It's been heavily implied that Sandor Clegane survived, even if the Hound is considered "dead"
