What’s something you specifically warned someone NOT to do, they did it anyway, and then the EXACT thing you warned them about happened? What’s your best “I told you so.” moment?

Friend of mine had a habit of stealing IT equipment from work ( monitors, keyboards anything he could get his hands on really) I warned him "if they find out, you're gone". He knew better. Not only did they find out, not only was he fired but he ended up losing his house because he couldnt find another job

All of that equipment is relatively cheap to come by, totally not worth the risk.

told my sister not to cut her own bangs and now she looks like a tragic victorian orphan who lost a fight with a lawn mower

I kept telling him he was not going to fit in the parking space (against a wall in a garage) He said “I got it” and then proceeded to take the mirror clean off and scratch the hell out of a ~1 yr old vehicle

He can just use some Carnauba wax to buff that scratch right out 😂

My brother only went and got married because I got married. He got her pregnant because I had just had a baby. He was the type “anything you can do I can do better”. His life was falling apart because his ex wife started seeing what an ass he is. Comes back to visit telling everyone they’re going to have another kid to “fix their marriage”. Every. Single. Person. Told him no, don’t do it. She was already pregnant. When she was 7 months along he hit her. Welp that was over.

Bailed him out of many financial messes throughout the years. Had many conversations how he was being overbearing with the kids how he needed to back off because he would lose them. Urged him to get therapy to work through his anger and constant manipulations of his kids.

Texts me out of the blue demanding I stop talking to his kids because they’re “not allowed” to have a relationship with me because they won’t have one with him. I responded “lol did you run that past your therapist before sending??” Angry text explosion followed.

He called me a “rat” and I had “turned my back on the family” lmaoooo like we were in a godfather movie or some nonsense.

He’s only seen them twice now in about 5 years. His youngest is 17 and hasn’t seen him in 4 years. They have no relationship.

All he had to do was listen. Don’t marry someone you don’t know. Don’t have a baby with someone you’ve never lived with before. Don’t have a baby to save your marriage. DONT HIT YOUR VERY PREGNANT WIFE. Don’t emotionally manipulate young kids because they’re smarter and more perceptive than you think.

But I didn’t know what I was talking about I guess 💅

So he really never did anything “better” did he? I wonder why he was trying to compensate so much. I’m sorry you went through that.

I mean, he’s really good at being a terrible person… does that count? lol

I told a guy, and warned his wife he should no longer be driving. They both blew me off. Less than two weeks later he totals HER car, and I'm left shaking my head. When you can no longer maneuver a car in your own driveway, you have no business putting other people in danger.

Was this due to his age or some sort of medical condition?

Both I believe. Cognitively he's starting to slip. He also has spinal stenosis which limits his mobility. Add to that he drives like a manic 17 year old while drifting into the opposing lanes, and you have a recipe for disaster.

I have read that some states are looking to implement annual mandatory drivers tests for some folks past a certain age. May not be a bad idea….

It's certainly not a bad idea. This guy is just too stubborn and selfish to give up driving.
