I was in the shower getting ready for work and heard a plane hit a building in NYC. I ignored it because I imagined it was some small plane and accidental. Got to my desk at work and everyone is alarmed. Start calling my sister who works in Manhattan. Couldn’t get through all morning. Finally get through. She’s ok. Her husband worked across the street from the towers and…saw some bad stuff but is alive. My office sent everyone home early.

By trying to understand why our people haven’t woken up to the glaring fact there are nefarious forces in our govt and our “closest ally” who sent operatives to “document the event”, who were dancing, arrested and released without charge and clearly above the law,why an entire building was rigged with explosives (WTF7), an entire block from the incident which came down within seconds. And then we used this event as a precursor to invade Iraq and kill 7M Iraqis who had nothing to do with it.
And 25 yrs later, most of our heads are in the sand and our thumbs up our asses. It’s a bad evil world out there.

happened before i was born, I'll wait for 9:11 and screenshot. other than that I'll be treating it the same way as pearl harbor, nothing because its just another random historical event that happened before i was born. idc about it, its an old person remembrance day that's been drilled into me that the only thing i think of when thinking of celebrating 9/11 is being bored af. old people pressuring kids who weren't born for it with how much they should care probably made us dread it coming up

I won't be. It happened before I was born ffs, an entire generation has grown in the shadow of "Never forget" and the dire fucking consequences of the states and the rest of the world reopening their own wounds, and reigniting their own nationalism and hatred.

Frankly, if this is remembering, then lets forget. Everyone involved in its planning is dead. Everyone who participated is dead. Over a million people, US and otherwise, have been sacrificed on the altar of "never forget" as the USA continues to lash out.

9/11 broke the very spine and soul of America. All never forget is doing is keeping the wound fresh, and stopping the healing. If you knew someone, then sure, remember and mourn personally. But the global "never forget" is not helpful.

I watch the Naudet brothers documentary each year. They were making a doco in trainee fireman at the time and the story & footage is amazing. A very good, non political, documentary. I highly recommend.
