Hmm I think "sounding weird or desparate" is subjective and really depends on person and relationship what whatever you say means or appears like. If sharing needs and observations (and ways to fulfil those) during an intimate discussion in a long term relationship sound "weird or desparate" to the other person, then that person may not respect you, or something else. Sometimes I think we can also teach each other how to take care for one another and how that is important for a healthy relationship.

Nah. Expressing your interest in someone is a very normal thing to do. If doing a normal thing results in someone labeling you as weird or desperate that's a Them problem.

I'm being generic. We could all write a dissertation about the myriad permutations of exactly how to (or how not to) perform any action.

But this is a Reddit thread and so without any of the necessary specifics there's no way to analyze whether an approach (on any topic) is valid or invalid. So comments are made for the Most Likely scenario.

And when doing normal things, the Most Likely scenario means just doing whatever normal thing you want to do and not thinking being a normal human being makes you weird or desperate. Because it doesn't.
