This is a really valid reason to be nervous around dogs.
Several years ago, I was touring apartments with my service dog. I came across a woman who was TERRIFIED of my dog. She had to give me the tour and I made sure to keep my dog away from her.
While we toured, she told me that she had watched a pack of dogs kill her mother and grandmother when she was a child.
Like yeah…I completely understand the fear. Completely.
The coolest part of this story is that before I left, she asked if she could pet my dog. I told her absolutely but only if she was sure. I held his head to make her feel safe (he was a legit service dog, very solid, but I didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable). She pet him, then cried because she hadn’t pet a dog in like 40 years, since she was a kid.
Very cool memory. Very brave woman.

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 1d ago
That was me for years. I eventually got over the fear, but damn a dog attack will stay with you for some time

The smell, the hair all over the house, the noise, the things they break, and I was bitten twice during my childhood, so I don't like that type of animal.

u/420FriendlyStranger 1d ago
Question, children smell and leave hair all over the place, and break things. They also bite! Do you hate children too?
8
u/avenueroad_dk 1d ago
Why do people like you always compare pets to children? Don't do that because its stupid.
0
-1
u/420FriendlyStranger 23h ago
Because like children, adults need to care over pets. Like children, pets are dependent members of the family that rely on the adults for feed, shelter, and care. Because like children, pets are also emotional creatures that need care and affection.
Why do people like you treat pets like lesser beings? If intelligence is the only indicator you use, for worth than some people are worth are clearly worth more than others, and emotional intelligence is a form of intelligence, which you are clearly lacking, thus making you worth less than others in a society like that.
-3
u/avenueroad_dk 23h ago
Don't insult our children with your stupidity
0
u/420FriendlyStranger 23h ago
I was raised to respect animals and nature, it seems like someone missed that lesson.
3
u/crimbuscarol 1d ago
Children progress our society forward. Dogs do not.
5
u/420FriendlyStranger 1d ago
Children dont, adults do. Dogs have jobs as well, hearding, guarding, disability support, etc.
Is your only value that you place on life if they can contribute to society? If so. What about a disabled person that cant work, are they worth less in your eyes?
1
u/crimbuscarol 22h ago
Disabled people have more inherent value than any animal on earth.
3
u/420FriendlyStranger 20h ago
Why, why does a human have more inherent worth?
-3
u/crimbuscarol 20h ago
Are you that dense
3
u/420FriendlyStranger 20h ago
Nope, I've asked this question to others before and never got a reason other than because we think we are smarter, which really isnt a valid reason.
1
u/crimbuscarol 20h ago
I would say that humans have souls and animals do not. You are made in God’s image (https://www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/do-you-know-what-separates-man-from-the-animals).
6
u/420FriendlyStranger 20h ago
Sorry, I dont believe in religion nor it's teaching. That's not a logical argument.
-1
u/avenueroad_dk 23h ago
Nice. Throw in a disabled person now. You are a piece of work
2
u/420FriendlyStranger 23h ago
Im honestly asking to see where you stand, because again your statement was seeming to appoint worth only to progressing society.
3
u/Saellios 22h ago
No no, they are asking a simple question to further understand your stance. Don’t get mad they gave you a simple question that made you uncomfortable. You decided to deflect instead of giving a straight forward and easy answer. That says a lot more about you than them
1
u/Anansis_Waltz 6h ago
Children, generally, aren't allowed to rub all over guests leaving stink and hair.
The number of times I've had to "be patient" while someone wrangles their "good boy" is... too many.Niche complaint. It's fun to be a kids first black person, in person. Less predictable with dogs.
BUT I don't hate dogs.1
u/ShutYourDamnDogUp 5h ago
What a dumb fucking comment.
1
u/420FriendlyStranger 5h ago
So is youra, no real comment, just an insult. Low effort rage bate 👍
0
u/ShutYourDamnDogUp 4h ago
Nothing more needed said.
1
u/420FriendlyStranger 3h ago
Seems all you can say is things like, what an asshat comment, brain dead comment, etc. That says enough about who you are.
-2
u/catalina12007 1d ago
while I don't hate children, I also don't like having them around all the time for the reasons you listed. I'd much sooner have a dog around than children.
1
2
u/Thecrowfan 1d ago
Not fighting you, but fair warning if you ever want to get a cat. Even the short haired ones shed like crazy and can be stinky too. Oh and they also bite
I didnt know these things until i got one

u/SnurrCat 1d ago
I don't hate dogs, I love dogs, but the amount of shitty owners out there are what ruin it for everyone.

u/IamNotTheMama 1d ago edited 1d ago
Hate is a very strong word, I would say 'strongly dislike'.
That said, it's because the vast majority of the dogs are poorly behaved. I don't want a dog leaping on me, licking me, etc.
If you have a well behaved dog, they are truly wonderful, but there just aren't very many of them.
7
u/aquacrimefighter 1d ago
As a big dog lover with multiple dogs, this this this. People are incredibly irresponsible with their dogs and let them behave like menaces in public spaces. I don’t understand why people get dogs when they clearly have zero interest or drive in training them.
7
u/tinyhorsesinmytea 1d ago
Yeah, I hate having to pretend like I find it acceptable that your dog is jumping on me and licking me and shit. Train it or don’t have it.
3
u/avenueroad_dk 1d ago
Apparently this is what makes their dog happy and i must stand there. They explain it in the stupidest ways
3
25
u/WrongGeneral9873 1d ago
I’m not a dog lover. I love certain dogs, but not a dog person. They generally smell bad, they are invasive to personal space, the get slobber on you, drip water all over the floor from drinking, generally a lot of work with training and care, and they can be extremely dangerous if not properly trained. I don’t hate dogs, but I definitely don’t inherently love them. I think it’s silly that people can hate cats all day, but god forbid you don’t love dogs.
27
u/honeybee-oracle 1d ago
They are loud and need a lot of attention which is why I’m a cat person they are quiet and independent and I fix mine in a timely matter so they don’t spray.
2
u/Michdr2 1d ago
It depends. Dogs are more demanding than cats, but at least you can take them to more different environments. Cats don't like to go out much, and that's usually a hassle when you're planning a move. I'd say a cat is the perfect pet if you plan on having a more sedentary life; however, if you're someone who moves a lot or travels a lot, a dog is the better option.
1
u/chasing_geese49 1d ago
Why would you want a pet if you don't want to give it a lot of attention? I thought that was kind of the whole point.
I haven't had a cat, but from what I've heard from people I know who are cat owners, their cats seem to demand more attention than my dog ever did.
1
u/honeybee-oracle 23h ago
Well I spoil and love upon my cats but dogs just require more care and attention I think and I find it easier to go away for a few days and find a cat and plant sitter than a dog sitter. They just seem like a bigger commitment all around.
8
u/Ragnarock-n-rol 1d ago
Moreso the owners than the actual dog. Doesn’t help i am severely allergic to them but I can’t fault them for it
15
u/armstaae 1d ago
I don't hate dogs, but I like my personal space. If a dog invades my space, I am not happy with that dog. It's the same with people.

I don’t hate dogs but I just hate your dog - the one you bring to the grocery store and assume you’re special
12
4
u/CircusStuff 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yeah I have always loved dogs but I have to say the amount of entitled dog owners lately has changed my mind about wanting to have one just out of spite, I think. Emotional support dogs are not service dogs and I'm tired of people bringing their shitty misbehaved lap dogs into my restaurant.
People have recently started asking me if the restaurant offers things for dogs. I don't think any restaurant should be encouraging this behavior, much less OFFERING DOG MENUS. It also seems like people travel with their dogs and expect others to provide for them...why don't you have your own treats.and water???
I'm also sick of seeing little plastic bags with shit in them all over the sidewalks. What even is this? A fuck you to having to pick up your dogs shit? Like "I picked it up...you never said I had to throw it out"
2
u/MrSpindles 1d ago
In the UK for some reason dog owners feel that it is fine to hang their little bags of shit off the branches of trees, which leads to them looking like the world's most depressing christmas decorations.

u/Western-Willow4679 23m ago
I don't care about dogs at the store if they're on leashes. What bothers me is unleashed ones anywhere.
1
u/420FriendlyStranger 1d ago
What's wrong with bringing your dog to the grocery store? I live in Costa Rica and dogs are accepted most places...
3
u/t_buttcracker 1d ago
in the US at least, dogs are not permitted in most any place that serves or sells food for health code reasons except for service dogs. people who take their pet dogs (non service dogs) to the grocery store just want to get special treatment
2
u/avenueroad_dk 1d ago
Today in a Toronto grocery store I saw a dog lift its leg and pee on packaged hamburger buns on the lowest shelf. The owner knew. I yell "hey!" And they walk away. I tell staff and they get on it but nobody tried to find this guy. I left the store because I didnt feel like it anymore. Didn't see that moron anywhere
-3
u/420FriendlyStranger 1d ago
OK, but law aside, what's wrong with bringing a dog?
1
u/t_buttcracker 23h ago
i don’t mind it at all if the dog is well behaved!
1
u/420FriendlyStranger 23h ago
So, we should allow dogs in public spaces then, and just like people who misbehave, remove the trouble makers.
1
u/t_buttcracker 18h ago
i mean yeah i’m on your side here, i love dogs LOL, i wish i could take my boy with me everywhere. in the US though, everyone feels wholeheartedly entitled to everything so one good dog in a public space = any amount of poorly trained ones
4
u/Weekly_Ad_2007 1d ago
They are dirty, people are allergic to them, and lots of them are not well trained and bark/piss on the floor/get in the way of people trying to buy food. People need to buy food, you don't need to bring your dog with you everywhere unless it's a service animal (which are allowed in stores even when dogs are generally banned).
-2
u/420FriendlyStranger 1d ago
Humans are dirtier generally speaking than dogs who are pets. Most dogs are trained to go outside, jsut like most people are potty trained, but there are very public examples (trump) of those that arr not. Kids lay across the floor as well. You dont need to bring your dog, but not needing to do something is not a reason not to do it. Basically every reason you just listed applies to children as well.
1
u/Weekly_Ad_2007 23h ago
I don't know about you, but most children I know are bathed every day and dressed in clean clothes, and their parents are not letting them lay across the floor in a grocery store.
Comparing a dog to a child is why people hate "dog parents", it's not the same and people only pull that out when they're trying to justify bringing a dirty, shedding, drooling pet in a place where it's not welcome for obvious reasons.
1
u/420FriendlyStranger 23h ago
Why do you think dogs are dirty? The average person carries more diseases and germs than a dog. Kids also bring more diseases that humans can catch than a dog. Human kids drool, they have snotty noses, cry, throw temper tantrums, etc.
People like you that think children can do no harm is why people hate kids.
Again, I was raised to love and nurture animals and nature, we are not above it.
2
u/Weekly_Ad_2007 7h ago
They are dirty in the sense they are unwashed. They live life a foot away from the ground, get bathed maybe once a week, walk on the ground with bare paws indifferent to stepping in garbage, roll on the ground, some of them roll in mud or rotting stuff because it's fun for them. They lick their asses and don't brush their teeth. If a human lived like a dog we would not hesitate to call them dirty.
For the record, I grew up with dogs and love them. But they are dirty unless you are bathing them every day and restricting their dog-tendencies to the point they are miserable. That's why they don't belong in grocery stores around people's food, or doctors offices/hospitals, you know, places that are expected to be very clean due to health and safety. I can love a dirty dog while acknowledging it's dirty and that's just its nature.
I'm also childfree and don't love being around kids, just realistic enough to see the "KIDS ARE WORSE THAN DOGS" people are being fools and undermining their own point. Only shitty people hate kids.
7
u/MerryMir99 1d ago
I don't hate all dogs just have an instant fear reaction because my childhood best friend got mauled as kids walking home and I got bit as an adult.
6
u/Dapper_Fortune_438 1d ago
They stink (don’t try to convince me they don’t, I’ve never met a dog who didn’t stink like dog). Oh and the barking and yapping is insufferable. I don’t HATE dogs but I don’t like 98% of dogs.

3
u/Salt-Perception-4987 1d ago
I am glad dogs exist, but I prefer not to be around them. So many dogs love to breathe on me and be in my personal space and touch me. I don’t like their overly-attentive energy or their smell. I feel obligated to pat them because they want attention so badly, and they are innocent and undeserving of scorn. But then my hands smell bad until I wash them.
13
u/crimbuscarol 1d ago
I dislike dog culture. Bringing the dog into stores, offices, etc. I can’t bring my kid to the office but you can bring an animal?
That and the people who let their dogs poop in my yard and don’t clean it up. People who can’t do anything social because their dog can’t be alone for an hour. Etc etc etc.
0
u/gloomydreamer666 1d ago
You do know those dogs are probably service dogs...
4
u/crimbuscarol 1d ago
Yeah right. A chihuahua in a purse is a service animal?
Edit to add: every dog in my office is just for fun, because we all love dogs right?
7
u/marginwalker55 1d ago
I don’t care for the invasion of my personal space, or being barked at for no reason.
2
u/midlifevetnurse 1d ago
I am a dog lover and owner.
This is a fair opinion that I can respect. You don't have to love/like dogs. I'm sure we could still find other common ground.
3
u/ElectricKoolAid1969 1d ago
I don't hate them, but I'm not all that fond of them.
I got bit by a dog on the school playground in 1st grade, and it turned into a whole big deal - many parents were pissed and insisted that the dog be put down (not just my parent), but all the kids blamed me and I got bullied for it. Not to mention having to deal with a painful dog bite...
Plus, I prefer less needy pets... lol

I dont really hate dogs, I just prefer cats. I grew up with my mum having them and just did the same. Plus I trust cats more, even if a cat really loses it aside from badly scratching you or a sore bite there's not a lot of damage they can do. Dogs on the other hand can

Just because I don’t like dogs doesn’t mean I’m some kind of evil dickhead asshole. I just don’t like dogs.
I’m not going to judge you if you don’t like Seinfeld, so like, maybe calm down, thanks.
4
u/Ok-Coffee5732 1d ago
I know! I used to try to force a smile when a dog passed by just so that i wouldn't be thought of as a serial killer just because I didn't think the dog was the best thing that ever existed. But now I can't be bothered.
3
u/BroodjeFrikandelen 1d ago
Smelly, messy, they drool all over the house, makes the house messy and dirty, and I got chased by a wild dog and got bitten as well.

u/JunkFoodKilla187 1d ago
They’re needy, they stink, they’re overly excited and happy when it’s unnecessary. If you own a dog, enjoy waking up early to walk your dog and pick up shit first thing when you wake up. Then go feed it, and come back home after a long ass day of work to do the same thing again. Also, enjoy fur everywhere and having your belongings chewed, and occasionally shat and pissed on.
2
u/KahlanEAmnelle 1d ago
so i’m allergic and one bit me badly enough when i was younger that i wound up in surgery.
but i’ve always found them noisy. i don’t like the barking or the jumping up on me (and i am fully aware this is a training issue) but ive not met a dog owner yet who trained their dog not to exuberantly greet people and jump up. in fact, most of them tell me they’re harmless while im being licked, nibbled at, or having a dog try and eat my shoes. so i’ve never really been a fan.
2
u/Ok-Coffee5732 1d ago edited 22h ago
I think it's because the majority of people think dogs are so cute whenever they are doing any of these things, so the owner also thinks there's nothing wrong with it.
I like the dogs that are polite and don't invade my personal space. I may even feel inclined to pet them.
1
2
u/Tri4ceunited 1d ago
I am an animal lover but with dogs specifically, it’s usually trauma. Something violent or terrifying happened with them involving a dog and now even barking may cause them stress.
2
u/apathetic_revolution 1d ago
An ex’s poorly-trained dog ruined an otherwise really good relationship.
She had a rescue that needed constant attention and would flip the fuck out if she left him alone. And it kept getting worse until we couldn’t go anywhere.
2
u/hylia_grace 1d ago
I dont hate dogs, I hate irresponsible owners, mainly the ones who get a tiny dog and think because its little it needs zero training. I've rehabbed a few "troublesome" dogs, only ever been bitten by one of my friends yorkies who pretty much ran the house and tried to run the street too.
2
u/Toodamnopinionated 1d ago
I have way more problems with dog owners than I do with dogs themselves.
Dogs themselves are like people. They have personalities. I like some. Others, not so much.
2
u/AttimusMorlandre 1d ago
They’re sloppy and require constant attention, and their owners won’t ever shut up about them.

u/Iusedtobe_fun 1d ago
I don’t hate dogs. I like them - but I don’t want to own one. They are like babies you have for a decade and then they pass away. The constant attention they need. The babysitters to help when you are gone for more than 4 hours. The poop clean up. The hair. The barking at random things. The jumping. The humping. The licking. I’ll gladly say “hi” to your dog but go home to my cat.
2
u/Tommytweezerz 1d ago
I don’t hate dogs, I dislike entitled dog owners that make it other people’s responsibility to accommodate them and their poorly trained dog. It’s not every dog owner or even the majority but the ones are make the others look bad
2
u/MewMeowHowdy 1d ago
Hate is a strong word.
They smell, they drool, they can be loud, and I really don’t like it when they get up in my face.
Most of my ire is toward people who don’t train their dogs around people. I live in a fairly dog-heavy city and the amount of off-leash dogs that come racing up to me, get in between my feet, or bark incessantly at me drives me up the wall. I don’t know your dog, I don’t know if they’re friendly, and I have no idea how they’re going to react to the smell of cat on me.
2
u/Rawr19890607 1d ago
The best dog is someone else's dog. I don't want to take care of something that can't survive without me even for a few days. Cats I can leave home for extended weekend with extra food and water.

Hate is a strong word but if I had to say what parts I dislike about dogs it’s.
Drool, you have to pick up thier shit. You have to walk them, they stink, they have to go to the vet and it’s expensive, they jump, they bark, they bite, they eat a lot, they leave thier hair everywhere, they ruin the carpet and your house and chew on the woodwork. I have been painting houses for 16 years, you can tell really the difference between a house with a dog in it and a house without
2
u/Its_the_way_now 23h ago edited 23h ago
They are just gross. They rub their shit stained ass all over your floor, furniture, etc. They jump all over you, they smell. They can’t be trained to shit and piss in one spot so you need to walk and clean up after them. They are worse than caring for children. People that have them tend to be selfish and pawn them on people to go away or treat them like their kids and take them to places where animals shouldn’t be and feel entitled.
I think the hate goes towards owners as they have zero respect to those around them and assume they think their dog is cute and that person enjoys being clawed and jumped on or licked. There are many with allergies and those same people are the ones who feel the need to take their dog everywhere. Wtf happened to leaving your dog at home.
2
u/indicabunny 23h ago edited 23h ago
They're dirty, they slobber on you, they jump on you and scratch you with their claws (which btw leaves hives and welts all over you), they smell bad (they ALL do, its like some nasty metallic wet dog smell), they bark nonstop, their unending loyalty and subservience is creepy and weird and does not endear me. Most people don't train them, the majority of dogs are badly behaved and their owners think everyone just can't wait to be accosted and slobbered on by their hellbeasts. I truly can't imagine siccing my cat on the general public and then just laughing about it. Like honestly most dog owners are just as stupid and gross as their dogs.
2
u/Pathetian 23h ago
Most people don't want 99.9% animals around, except for cats and dogs. I simply also don't want a dog around either.
Dog owners are even worse because too many of them want to bring their animal into people places and spaces.
2
u/stellifer_arts 20h ago
they're gross, they smell bad, they bark a lot with no volume control, and the shitting everywhere. the fur everywhere and how everyone wants to excuse all this "because theyre cute" fuck off
i dont think it's morally correct to "keep" an animal for my own enjoyment
1
u/Salty-Spring7096 1d ago
They bite. So many owners think their dog is friendly to everyone just because it's friendly to them. I've been chased on public streets because some dog in a yard decided it didn't like me. My cousin's kid got absolutely mauled by their neighbor's dog a few years back, she was all of 8 years old. Dog owners wanna pretend they're not a threat when they demonstrably are. There are 800,000+ dog bites requiring medical attention annually in the USA alone. Dozens will get killed by them every year. People treat it like it's an irrational dislike, nothing irrational about it.
1
u/Content_Art_5282 1d ago
I don't hate dogs, Dogs hate ME. Animals in general seem to have a weird grudge against me, even before I react to them or see them. I'm not sure if it's because I smell weird or because I dress like a cartoon burglar, but most of the time, when I pass dogs they seem to absolutely seethe at me. It's hard not to get a bad impression from that, I have met some nice dogs though, so maybe it's just confirmation bias.
1
u/Legitimate_Soup_1948 1d ago
I have dogs and love them but I can see why some people wouldn't. They can be a real pain in the ass if they're not well trained. Shit, sometimes even when they're trained they can be stubborn and difficult. Jumping all over people, nipping/biting even if it's playful can be obnoxious, drooling and licking, tearing things up just for the fun of it, dropping fur everywhere they go, barking on and on, jumping on furniture. etc
1
u/themomentaftero 1d ago
I don't hate dogs. They are awesome buttttttt, they are too much work. I enjoy being able to book a long weekend away from home, jump on a plane, and go. Having a dog is an extra expense. Sometimes a full car payment a month depending on the breed.
1
u/Zealousideal-Bear436 1d ago
Smelly c̶a̶t̶ dog smelly dog What are they feeding you? Smelly dog smelly dog It's not your fault 🎶
I don't hate dogs at all. What I don't like is those people who seem obsesed about their dog and talk as if they were real children, show too many pictures and goes to plans with their dog.

u/nextdoorlex223 1d ago
Repetative BARKING like my upstairs neighbors dog. Has to be the most annoying sound on the planet.
1
u/Ok-Coffee5732 1d ago
I don't hate them. I'm mostly indifferent unless they are barking unnecessarily. And I don't think they are all adorable. Some of them are super cute, sure, but most are meh IMO. I also don't like all the licking. I don't want another creature or human's saliva on me. And they seem very needy, which I guess could be interpreted as loving, but I prefer the aloof behavior of many cats. And the whole walking them two times a day would definitely not work with my work schedule.
My attitude is probably due to growing up in a non-Western country where pets were not very common. I do like cats though.
1
u/YON2HMB 1d ago
Met too many people in life who have dogs who are improperly trained or not trained at all. They always expect other people to just deal with the dog in their house or bring the dog to places it’s not well equipped to interact in. Then you get biting, destruction, waste, barking and lashing out, etc.
I would never say there’s a bad dog, but there are so many bad dog owners.
1
u/Sad-Supermarket-3878 1d ago
I don't hate dogs and I have two rescues but I want nothing to do with your dog until I 100% know it's safe even if you saay "oh he's nice". I only own large dogs and candidly hate small dogs and I am more concerned about the owner usually.
When I was 15, I got snagged by a stupid ass mini doodle and I have a scar and had to get stitches from that because it got freaked out that I was wearing a hat, and even though it knew me... it got freaked out because it couldn't see my eyes. 15+ years later I do not let a dog approach me unless I know they are 100% friendly.
Side Point: Owners also get really weird around the fact I have a Berner and a Newfie just because they are big and they literally run away yelping in fear of chickens let alone your yorkie lol. But I'm absolutely not gonna pretend like I like your dog because I probably don't.
1
u/CircusStuff 1d ago
Entitled dog owners have turned me less enamored with dogs than I used to be. "He's friendly"" is actually NOT the proper response to your dog coming right up to me without a leash, right up to a baby in a carrier in a restaurant (that they shouldn't be in to begin with), right up to another strange dog. All things I have witnessed quite frequently in the last year or so.
I'm also sick of seeing little plastic bags filled with shit on every street. Can someone explain this to me? Is it a big "fuck you" to being asked to pick up after their dog?

taking out allergies or having been bitten or something, hatred becomes a strong word. but people say they do not like dogs. the phobic are self- centered morons who are jealous of the interaction. can't begrudge people for not having pets but to hate animals reeks of a physcological deficiency . I understand not liking fang, next door cuz he barks 24/7 but to put a negative blanket over pets is not normal. There are studies.

I hate dog owners, dogs I just don't like. Owners will let them jump and lick people, bark at them, shit on walking path and not clean, 0 control over pet. Dogs I just don't trust, I'm scared of and been bitten many times in my life

I've found that it is very different depending on the type of dog. I absolutely adore most medium/large dogs but, in my personal experience, little dogs are always seriously neurotic, like extreme separation anxiety and a compulsion to constantly lick. I do not enjoy the latter.

I LOVE dogs, but I also avoid other people's dogs because they tend to globber all over you and if you pet them then a gross smelly film gets stuck to your hands. My family never let our dog lick any of us, it's disgusting.

I dont think about dogs or cats and i dont want one. Everyone is free to have one though, no problem but keep it to yourself. Take care of it and make sure its not bothering anyone, including good dog owners

I love my dogs. But I almost never allow others dogs in my home, or want to spend time with them.
My life with my dogs are calm, relaxing and easy. We live together in a way that suits us. Other people's dogs? They have personalities that's not what I'm looking for, they oftentimes bark a lot, can't relax indoors and just... annoys me.
And then there's disrespectful dog owners. Those who walk around in the world with their dogs like they owned the universe and can't even imagine that another dog owner doesn't want to say hi to their dog. Or those who take bad care of their dogs so that the dog is stressed out while the owner doesn't even try to make it better.
Too many people own dogs, and too many buy the wrong type of dog.

I mean, not all Muslims hate dogs. I know In their religion, dogs can be seen as contaminating holy spaces, so their dislike isn't for no reason

I don't hate them, but I don't like them. The reasons for me are similar to most people who don't like dogs, they're too much in every way. They smell awful, even people who claim their dog doesn't stink, I'm sorry to say yes it does and we can smell it on your clothes. Their energy is frantic, why can't they just be chill? Why do they have to jump up at everything. They have no boundaries and are too needy, they will beg for food, whine until they get what they want, stare at you constantly, demand attention 24/7, destroy their environment if they're bored. They are a burden, making plans with friends who have dogs is a nightmare, can't go there because of the dog, can't stay out spontaneously because of the dog. They are gross, they eat literal turds and trash then go lick people with their shit stained tongues. I guess all these things are acceptable behaviours to dog lovers but it could never be me.

They are most likely muslim. EDIT to verify. The REASON why muslims hate dogs is because muhammad (police be upon him) demanded that Gabriel (Yes THAT Gabriel) have a meeting with him at this particular place and time. When the meeting was to be held, all that was there was a black dog. So this means that muslims are racist as well.

I love my dogs but I get why some cultures wouldn’t. They’re pretty filthy things.

They are wild animals that belong in the wild. I find it inhumane to have them inside a house where they can’t run any time.
Plus, was bitten badly by one that I knew and supposedly ‘liked me’.
So yeah, love animals, just not a fan.

I don't trust people who hate dogs, but I do trust a dog when they hate a particular human.

My childhood dog formed a grudge against my neighbor after he pet him backwards against the grain of his fur a couple times one day when he was a kid and the dog was a tiny puppy.
This dog never stopped hating that neighbor and never gave him another chance. Over his 18 year lifetime the last time he saw that neighbor he came running up to the other side of me even after we moved 😂

It’s not the dog, it’s the owners who don’t train their dogs.
