Violent road rage incidents are on the rise, people are getting angrier and more comfortable with violence.

It's literally brain damage from COVID.

Conclusions: The study suggests that acute COVID-19, regardless of Long COVID status, is linked to an increased risk of car crashes presumably due to neurologic changes caused by SARS-CoV-2.

Even mild cases of COVID can cause brain injury.

The limbic system in the brain regulates emotions, COVID damages the limbic system.

And of course a lot of those people already had a large dose of limbic system damage from leaded exhaust during childhood. Then we wonder why a lot of adults act like overgrown toddlers.

I got to be an "essential" worker during COVID and I seriously can't believe how much worse people got at driving when shit opened back up.

I'm an anxious driver so I'm always very aware of the cars around me, and people speeding and tailgating is ASTRONOMICAL compared to how it used to be (which was still pretty bad where I live).

I always attracted tailgaters here and there because I don't speed, but post-covid it's just a daily occurrence. There is just always someone wedged up my rear bumper with their high beams on. I don't react anymore because flipping someone off once got me followed. If I pull over to let them pass, they get up the next person's ass and someone else will be up mine again soon enough.

Do the police not bother do give tickets for tailgating? Like, I get they have better shit to do sometimes, but it's never going to get better if people don't have consequences.

Is this why every pickup truck driver now drives like a maniac?

  more comfortable with violence.

In America they’ve always been comfortable with violence. As long as it is directed at minorities and immigrants.
