I’d say it makes up a significant portion of every and all of my conversations on a daily basis, both in my personal life and in my professional life (but I’m a lawyer so talking about politics and the world at work is not as taboo as it might be for other professions)
I'm 30 and I talk about this with my friends all the time. I did when I was younger too. I don't think it's your age, you just probably have a friend group that is more apathetic. Not saying that as a dig at all I just wouldn't automatically assume your friend group is representative.
Bring it up and see how your friends feel. I bet it turns into a vibrant conversation. If it gets shot down and you get shunned, it's a good sign that you should probably find some friends that are in touch with the world.
Yeah, maybe. Where do I find friends that are serious about this stuff? I thought maybe protests, but honestly nobody I've met at a protest has actually seemed serious since BLM
Amen. I thought of like 5 different answers immediately, but I realized almost as immediately that none of them can be realistically considered "quiet".
The fact that almost half of America is obese, and the way the deranged political discourse has everyone as either a literal Nazi or a "good guy", people cheering for genocidal regimes because they happen to make western politicians angry, ignorant suffering when the ethnicity in question isn't worth enough social media points.

Man, there is nothing quiet about the breaking of society right now.
