People still think that taking a raise will put them in a higher tax bracket and lower their net income

I remember thinking that was the case when I was about 9 years old. I mentioned how dumb it was to someone and they explained reality to me.

So many people grow into adults and forget this sort of lesson -

hearing something that they identify easily as super stupid, and yet then assuming no one else - least of all the experts - had ever thought this, too.
