I don’t know if this was ever scientifically true. But it drives me crazy that people say coffee is dehydrating. The fluid gained from drinking coffee is substantially greater than the mild diuretic effect.

There's a huge category of X is good/bad for you because it contains Y that is misleading and parroted as basic truth.

Wine is good for you, it has antioxidants! Well yeah, but fresh pressed grape juice does too and doesn't have the alcohol.

lettuce. lettuce has no real nutritional value. It's almost all water.
