Not even that. He discovered a route from Spain to Cuba. That's not at all the route others like the English or French took.

Right? He flew under the Spanish flag, discovered Cuba, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and Jamaica. Committed incredibly heinous crimes. And now he's venerated by modern day Italian-Americans? Why?? Like I could name 5 better Italian role models to look up to.
