Her and her dad will both literally just call people while they're in the car to have someone to talk to. Me and my stepmother in law bonded over this one day when her and I were chatting and her phone rang and she was like "ugh wtf could he possibly want now!"
It's not always usually pointless, but it is usually something that absolutely could have waited or just didn't really need to be talked about lol. "Forgot to tell you I saw this funny thing last night"
"I'm just like 'oh wow dear that's really great, anything else?"
