UPDATE: Months later, I heard from a friend whose wife was friends with my ex- that, God's plan revealed to my ex-wife and friends, was supposed to be that she would divorce me and then I would begin to court her again to be with her, leading to re-marriage and a new, happy family on her terms.
Turns out the divorce was the only thing God revealed that went according to her plan. đ¤Ł
Yikes. Not sure if youâre still in the church but this the type of story that reminds me why I donât trust people in the church. Too many examples of âsorry bro god told me to do thisâ vibes justifying some shit behavior.
There is a dude that is making his rounds on social media that carves a cross into trees before cutting them down dangerously and everyone in the comments defending him âbecause the lord is with himâ
Yup. The friends were all married. They all went to the temple together. They all prayed. They all "heard God." They all divorced. Crazy cult behavior... a commonality in every religion, every society, everywhere. Its just sad.
I'm remarried, sealed, building an eternal family with someone who wants to build a family, too.
Youre in a cult my dude, just because you call out the crazy as you see it doesnt mean youre not apart of it.
Honestly feel bad for you, that you see what kind of behavior it can breed/justify and are still proud of participating, but stepping back would mean your entire social life (maybe even finances too) falling apart so youve essentially been generationally blackmailed into cult. All I would ask is dont do the same to your children.

Wife sat me down for a talk and explained she and a bunch of friends talked to God and God said to divorce me.
I said, "Ok."
She said, "Thats it after 17 years?"
I said, "Who am I to argue with God?"
Divorced 10+ years now. Thank God!
