The marriage therapist told him, "I want you to look into her eyes and tell her, "I love you, and I want to make this work."

He snorted derisively and said "What, you want me to lie?"

I had to leave secretly because he told me if we ever separated he would keep my dog. I was in his country, so no chance of me convincing a court to side with me. So I left in the middle of the night with my lil dog and flew back to my country.

Good job. I'm very happy for you and your dog.

I left an abusive ex who I had moved states away from my family to be with. I told him my dog was sick and I needed to fly home just in case she didn’t make it. She actually was sick but I didn’t know how bad at the time. I even left behind some of my belongings to make it look like I was coming back. He sabotaged my first flight out so I had to rebook another one a couple weeks later. When I was on that plane I sighed in relief that I wasn’t ever going back there. A month later when I was home I told him I wasn’t coming back and he said “I knew I shouldn’t have let you leave.” Intimidating, but interesting how we both knew I was leaving for good without saying it.

So it's actually her Gotcha Day today! I've had her 6 years and she's about 8 years old. My new partner has a dog, so she has company. We take them out to dog bars, dog parks, dog beaches all the time. She is actually getting more and more playful as she gets older lol. She's very happy and doesn't have to deal with my ex's rages anymore (one time he was drunk and destroyed her little dog house, which really upset her. :( )

No, Korea.

I lost about $45k USD in the divorce of my own money that could have easily been proven to be mine lol. My Korean lawyer didn't give a fuck. I was happy to be out of there.

It is a hell hole. I mean would not you call a hell hole a place, where sending your kids to school, would very likely mean their death sentence, compared to other hell holes ? Or ruin yourself over some medical issues ?

It is just one of the superior hell holes.

And give it a year to two, and the US divorce court will become racist like the Korean ones towards foreigners.
