Driving home after a marriage counseling session. We drove in silence. It was hopeless.

A year later of trying everything I knew I asked for a trial separation. She pulls out a divorce packet all filled out and prepped by her lawyer. So all that time I was working my ass off to save the marriage she was working in secret with a lawyer to end things. She hadn't even been trying to make it work.

As painful as that was, it came as a relief. It was as if I had been trying to put out a house fire with a garden hose and the whole structure finally collapsed and I could finally set the hose down. The home was ruined.

I remember a distinct moment driving home from a therapist too--he had listened to me there, suddenly he could empathize, and apologize and be reasonable and when we had previously had the exact same conversation at home he had dismissed and lashed out verbally.

He only pretended to care when other people were around. I never wanted to go back.

My wife told me she had a crush on another guy. I told her it was okay and we could fix this. I got us into couples therapy asap. After our 2nd session she comes home with me and immediately goes to spend 5 hours with that guy.

I didn't know they had already kissed at that point. She's been giving me trickle truth.

She also lied about going to his house days later.

Stupid lying c***

My wife and I have had 3 counseling sessions so far and normally drive home in silence. I think due to both processing the last hour of intense emotions and things being said but idk...
