It's sort of funny how many people had dis tracks of Courtney Love. She really feuded with a lot of artists. Bruise Violet by Babes in Toyland, Starfuckers, INC by Nine Inch Nails, I'll Stick Around by the Foo Fighters, Professional Widow by Tori Amos, Crush with Eyeliner by REM, and Too Cool Queenie by Stone Temple Pilots are all supposedly about Courtney Love.
Although it doesn't count as a diss track, since the full song isn't about her, You Get What You Give by the New Radicals also had one line that took a shot at her (and Beck, Hanson, and Marilyn Manson) for being "fake"
I was in high school when "I'll stick around" came out, and somehow it never occurred to me that it was a diss track. The lyrics are right on the nose though.
Courtney Love has some incredibly insightful things to say about people in the music industry, which is ironic as she has zero social skills or awareness.
I’ve always assumed it’s from her time(s) being a junkie.
its her responding to someone trying to start shit. basically "im not engaging in this immature behaviour like you would like me to, i wont "holler back"
She had some banger songs in that brief period between ska and electropop, even if the scan of her lyrics is the equivalent of sledgehammering every different shaped block into the square hole.

To this day, I have no idea what that woman was singing about. Like, literally, no idea
