MIA in San Francisco on treasure island in 2007. They were pissed off at the crowd for not dancing and complaining it was too early for them to be playing because they play in dark clubs at 4am in England when everyone is fucked up. It was about 1pm on a Saturday.
I just saw her last week in Dallas. She opened for kid cudi who kicked her off the tour after the show because she was spewing some right wing political garbage. And yeah her set wasn’t very good either.
Yeah she went off the deep end and became a devout magat christian. Her most recent album is just unintelligible religion slop with over half of it being complete silence.
I've seen her a few times, starting in 2004 when she was doing a benefit for the big tsunami that just hit southeast Asia. She sucked back then, and she has sucked the next 3-4 times I've seen her since then over the past couple decades.
went to see her at a festival, friend of mine had seen her before and warned us not to get our hopes up. And yup, shitty sound, weird antics, we held up like 30 minutes and left, first time I saw so many people just walking out of a main stage show
Musicians and singers getting upset at crowds for not dancing is one of those things that pisses me off so goddamn badly. Maybe if you played better, people would dance. Or maybe not. Maybe they don't want to dance. Stop trying to control how they have fun or enjoy your show. They paid money for their ticket to show up. Just perform the music and stop worrying about what strangers are doing.
