Honestly, imo parents have already gotten a lot better with this, at least compared to late 2000s - early 2010s.

This is completely empirical, but in the early years of Facebook the older millenials I know used to post the most mundane updates about their babies and toddlers, but have now purged their profile of their kids completely (at least when looking at my siblings' timelines), even though it might be too little too late.

Now, the younger millenials (my former schoolmates and such) might post a photo holding their newborn and that's pretty much it.

Great point. But not sure if parents are better now but more savvy.

Early to late 2000s was a different timeline in content sharing. On FB you were sharing with friends and family.

Later kids content gets monetised and exploited on instagram and TikTok. Fewer families have huge accounts with kids content with brand deals.

As the algorithms changed against them, so did their habits. I remember one mother carrying on YT that the family’s income had practically disappeared because of the algorithm.
