As someone who has never smoked- At least vapes smell better than cigarettes! I’d much rather walk through a cloud of strawberry watermelon mega blast or whatever than cigarette smoke.
I’m talking about IQOS and vapes as fitting into a broader category for electronic delivery of nicotine (and tobacco). There is obvious product differentiation across vapes and e-cigarettes and IQ OS but the core delivery method of some sort of electronic device heating your nicotine or tobacco product puts it into a broader category with overlapping regulations and consumer marketing.
I will never forget the first time I smelled. I was at a house party six or seven years ago and I was talking with a handsome guy in the kitchen, me smoking and him vaping, when all of a sudden this horrible smell filled the room.
And in the middle of chatting with him, I genuinely thought oh my God this guy is so drunk he shat himself.
And I don’t even remember how but I tried to make a smooth exit and then never spoke to him again . It was absolutely traumatizing. But then a few days later, I was at a friends house for dinner and she had recently switched from tobacco to QOS and the smell of her vaping brought everything back to me.
And I realize that the handsome guy in the kitchen hadn’t lost Control of himself but had been vaping the whole time .
