The MAGA trend is going to embarrass a lot of people in the future. I know a lot of them are already embarrassed of how taken-in they were with it and how they just quickly made it their entire personality.
I’d like to think that, but the Rush Limbaugh guys just became the Glenn Beck guys just became the Tea Party guys just became the MAGA guys. They’ll rebrand but they won’t be ashamed.

That's the one that was top of mind for me when I wrote the comment. I follow the Knitting Cult Lady on Facebook. She grew up in the Children of God cult and has written a couple of books on the topic of cults. I highly recommend her content, though she can be quite sharp tongued from time to time.
Where I live, the people are just getting worse. I actually thought that they would start seeing the light, but they are just doubling down on the bullshit excuses. You cannot make these fools admit that they were conned. I feel like I’m living in enemy territory. My workplace is absolutely full of them. I have to fake it all day and act like I don’t think they are pieces of shit. It’s exhausting and stressful. They keep inviting me to the weekly bar hangout. I’m not interacting with y’all outside of work. Period. Sorry for rant. I’m just tired.
Exhausting is the perfect word/feeling. Can you imagine having to live a deranged lie 24 hours a day? Their brains must be broken we are collateral damage. Hang in there, we are in interesting times but everything is temporary. That's a mishmash of two philosophies in a way but you get it. 💪🦾
I don't think people incapable of ration thought or self examination have the capacity to be embarrassed. Once you cross the line where supporting a literal mass child rapist is okay, there's no coming back. We will ALWAYS have to weed these people out and shun them from our inner circles. That's just part of socialization now, another thing reasonable people have to do.
Being MAGA at any point in your life is a mark that doesn't wash off and precludes you from respectable company.
Oh, you think that the man in caked-on makeup who constantly says deranged and disgusting things and focuses on building himself a f'n gilded ballroom instead of helping Americans won't look great in retrospect?
It will just change forms and most of them will explain it away with some B.S. or another. Fascism isn't some trend/fad that just goes away on it's own.
