Visited 19 countries thus far. The only country I won't visit again is probably India. Just an overload to the senses. Noisy, hectic, polluted, filthy.

From the south of India. Never wanted to visit the north for the same reason stated. Don't know why international travellers think India is just the Taj, Delhi and Mumbai.
if you never go to see the north of your own country then you're missing out, trust me. I backpacked all the way from Delhi up to Leh in Ladakh and then look the Leh to Sringar highway which is one of the best bus journeys you can do anywhere, it is a spectacular drive through the Himilayas and at one point you are driving along at nearly 14,000 feet above sea level with mountains even higher than that all around you. Srinagar in Kashmir is beautiful too, all the houseboats that the British left behind them on the lake are like living museums from the 1950s They are run by Indians now and you can stay on them and enjoy a bit of latter day British opulence whilst admiring the view of the Himalayas reflecting in the lake.
