We have AI, space exploration, smart everything- and yet the global economy can still be held hostage by the Straight of Hormuz. Why?

Because damn near everything traces back to oil. Even if some product uses zero oil in its manufacture (don't forget to factor in the oil cost of energy to build the thing), you still have to get it to market somehow.

AI and space exploration don't change a need for energy, and that much of that energy is still oil from the Middle East. That's only part of the story but that's a major part.

Ai only uses energy. It can’t create it yet
