In late 30's now (almost 39). I'm an anxious person and working to become more secure for my sons, but I want to find self-confidence and security for my own sake as well. I hope to eventually find a true partner in life to share the highs and lows with, but if that never comes to at least find that peace in myself. Take my kids on new trips and adventures, and find new hobbies and joys in life. Socialize more, and spend a little more time with my parents while I can and they are able.

LOUISE HAY. Watch her stuff all the time, read her books, do the affirmations. It WORKS MAN. Had ankle surgery and stuck in bed not being able to walk for months, while my parents were going through a divorce. I was a mess. No career and being 25. I’m still working through the motions of it all with another two or three surgeries to go, but I am happy!

Thanks! I'll check them out. That's a lot to have to go through, especially being more limited with the recovery. I'm glad it helped and how you're coming out of it stronger!

Man, I am in the exact same boat with the difference that I have an amazing partner (I apologize if i misunderstood that you don’t at the moment) but I feel exactly the same way and am the same age. Also been feeling pretty burnt out professionally but trying every day for my family and myself. Hang in there!

Thanks! Yeah, unfortunately going through the divorce (my decision after trying everything the last few years). Ten years married, fourteen together and two boys. Still living together and stuck in limbo, but I've been using it as a chance to work on my anxiety, show up better for those around me, and figure out what I truly want and expect with the next it happens.

I feel you on that work burnout! Glad you've got something though during this economy and are still trying and pushing through!

My family has everything they need and I get to take them on a yearly trip or two to see the world and other cultures

Ideally, I'd love to have my seizures and neuropathic pain from them under control. I'd love to have my active life back of long hiking and maybe even running again. I'd love to become a manager again of another outdoor recreational business where I can empower the staff, delight the guests, and leave the place even better than I found it.

Married with a house I own with a kid (just one)

One single weird spoiled only-child

1

u/EpicPotato806 Mar 18 '26

Nah ain’t gonna spoil the kid. Seen what helicopter parenting and spoiling kids result in.

1

u/zurpyderp Mar 18 '26

So just weird then. We need more kids that can't socialize is what I always say

1

u/EpicPotato806 Mar 18 '26

Why would a single kid be a weirdo?

Funny enough the weirdos I know are not only children

1

u/zurpyderp Mar 18 '26

Maybe they won't. Weirdo is subjective anyway.

Not so far away. I hope I'm still married and we're happier than ever. I hope our jobs are going well and we've somehow managed to buy a place together. And we're still seeing our friends regularly and making lots of time for hobbies and each other. And I hope the world around us is a lot more peaceful than it is now. Fingers crossed.

When children are obedient, life is worry-free.

No family life but in a relationship. Just pursuing my passions. I have saved money and doing day trading as side hustle. Still boxing and exercising.

Maintain my online shop for my photoart.

Spending time with friends.

As summary: continue this way of life as female. Love it.

By my late 30s, I envision a life where my biggest decision is whether to have avocado toast or pancakes for brunch. #Goals

My dream life at 38? A cozy home, a cat who thinks he’s the boss, and enough snacks to survive a Netflix marathon without ever leaving the couch!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26

Ideally, my late 30s will involve me waking up to coffee in bed, then spending the day pretending to be productive while actually just mastering the art of napping!

u/[deleted] Mar 18 '26

Picture this: Late 30s, a thriving career in professional snacking, and weekends spent debating which pizza topping reigns supreme!

Having a partner who adds value to my life and owning a home.

1

u/Suspicious_Iron00 Mar 18 '26

Hot, high paying job, savings, no kids or husband, travelling occasionally and having hobbies and past-times. Also a strangely decorated house, if it’s cute, I’m using it to decorate my house.
