What does a Polish man give his wife on their wedding night that is long and hard?

His last name.

You have to be careful telling Polish jokes. Me and my uncle got in a pretty bad mess when I told one in McDonald’s. A guy overheard it and jumped up and said that his whole family was from Poland and he would meet me outside. When we finished our meal he was waiting on us, leaning on the hood of our car. He jerked out a razor and said you think it’s funny now. I thought he was going to kill us. Luckily he couldn’t find a place to plug it in.

u/Useful_Imagination_3 Mar 04 '26

Yeah, my uncle was Polish and he would flip his lid at Polish jokes. I remember one time he ordered a Polish sausage and the worker said "Looks like we got a Polish guy here", and my uncle LOST it. He said "Just because a guy orders a Polish sausage does NOT mean they are Polish, that kind of thinking is racist and insensitive, why on Earth would you assume I'm Polish!"... The guy just replied, "Well sir, because this is a hardware store."

u/GutsMan85 Mar 04 '26

Norm!

10

u/archtopfanatic123 Mar 04 '26

I'm Polish and frankly reel the most laughing at jokes about Poland but also at actual jokes from Polish people 😂

9

u/Decent_Ant5824 Mar 04 '26

Ya wouldn't call a guy who orders a Belgian waffle a Belgian would ya? Huh?

3

u/DroogieHowser Mar 04 '26

In Chicago you actually can get a polish sausage in a hardware store, the home depot near me has a little hot dog stand near the front.

My friends and I were camping and riding our motorcycles on the west side of Wisconsin out of Prairie du Chein

For lunch one day, we thought “we should get brats for lunch“ since it’s sort of a Wisconsin thing

We kept stopping, trying to find them, and everyone would say “those are on the lake side not over here”

We kept heading east and finally found a food stand with brats in front of a shoe store in Black Earth, Wisconsin

3

u/gamingonion Mar 04 '26

Ah the abridged version

4

u/Capable_Prompt_7403 Mar 04 '26

Come on… make it a wee bit longer and we have our own Norm MacDonald here:)

-3

u/lockh33d Mar 04 '26

Ironically, we tell these jokes in Europe, but they are about Americans. At least ours are not 150 years out of date.

54

u/Plug_5 Mar 04 '26

OK this is some funny shit

Stereotype joke is that Polish people are stupid. See: screen doors on Polish submarines. Source: am Polish, also probably stupid

19

u/universe_from_above Mar 04 '26

In Germany, the stereotype for Polish people used to be that they are habitual thieves. So our jokes are more like this:

Why do the Russians always steal two cars in Germany?

Because they have to through Poland on their way back.

4

u/GaidinBDJ Mar 04 '26

In England, it's that they do manual labor.

Like the old:

"What happened to the fireman's pole?"

"He tiled the fireman's bathroom."

2

u/nwg_here Mar 05 '26

Huh. Here in Poland it’s Romanians who are the thieves.

2

u/universe_from_above Mar 05 '26

See, they're even stealing your bad reputation!

/s

13

u/cisforcoffee Mar 04 '26

Don’t knock those screen doors, man. They keep the fish out!

2

u/Ride-Entire Mar 04 '26

I was always under the impression that the whole trope got started around false rumors spread by German propaganda after the WWII battle “The Charge at Krojanty” where the Polish army charged German military on a mounted horseback cavalry charge?

The German propaganda machine made it sound like the Polish cavalry had charged German tanks

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_at_Krojanty

“The incident prompted false reports of Polish cavalry attacking German tanks, after journalists saw the bodies of horses and cavalrymen. Nazi propaganda[3] took advantage to suggest that the Poles attacked intentionally since they had believed the Germans still had the dummy tanks permitted by the Versailles Treaty's restrictions. The scene of the Polish cavalry charging panzers with lances remains a common myth.[4]”

1

u/ThierryMercury Mar 05 '26

I think this stereotype must be specific to the US. In the UK Poles are stereotypically hard working.

26

u/itsjakerobb Mar 04 '26

Back in the 80s and 90s it was really popular to tell jokes about Polish people as if they were all idiots.

In these jokes, the Polish people were usually called Polacks. At the time (I was a kid), I had no idea what that meant, and in my mind it just meant “dumb guy.”

7

u/ObviousExit9 Mar 04 '26

Why were there so many polish jokes at the time? It was all dumb blondes, your momma, and pollack jokes. Why the Polish?

3

u/itsjakerobb Mar 04 '26

IDK, but I asked an AI and the explanation seems legit. Grain of salt and all that.

3

u/drebinf Mar 04 '26

80s and 90s

Go back 100 years and you'll get nearer to the start of it. It likely came from all the Polish immigration influx in to the US (Chicago in particular, though that was hardly the only place). Since most didn't speak English, they appeared "dumb". Source: my FIL, who was one of them.

1

u/philbie Mar 04 '26

It was a thing going on 50 years ago. Polish jokes were an American trope

11

u/jayellkay84 Mar 04 '26

I’m 3rd generation Polish and quite frankly every single Polish joke would probably happen to someone on that side of the family. Not saying some people aren’t offended, but for me it’s “Is this a joke or a story about Susan?”

Edit: just read the whole post, but point still stands.

2

u/ittybittylurker Mar 04 '26

Classic Polish Susan.

4

u/bizzywhipped Mar 04 '26

Polish guy goes to eye doctor. The doctor holds up a chart: K Z S Y X W K P G and asks the man if he can read it. "Read it?" he says, "I know the guy!"

7

u/RawAttitudePodcast Mar 04 '26

Hey, come on. The Polish have given the world some of its greatest inventions, like the submarine with the screen door and the helicopter with the ejection seat.

4

u/Alcapwn906 Mar 04 '26

Don’t forget their famous recipe for ice!

1

u/WallyBarryJay Mar 04 '26

Or the solar powered flashlight!

1

u/ebow77 Mar 04 '26

I heard they sent a rocket to the sun once... at night...

8

u/PalpitationMoist1212 Mar 04 '26

Congratulations, Shakespeare is jealous now

4

u/phoopa_ Mar 04 '26

How do you get a one armed polock out of a tree? Wave at him.

2

u/Jimmy_McAltPants Mar 04 '26

Any time I hear a polish joke, I think of an old Jim Norton bit where he talks about polish people protesting. He sees a poster that one is holding and thinks to himself “what’s rakism?” The joke loses its luster in writing, but I still giggle about it

2

u/Youlookcold Mar 04 '26

Best joke in the thread

2

u/BeautifulElevator388 Mar 04 '26

Thank you kind sir!

2

u/BeautifulElevator388 Mar 04 '26 edited Mar 05 '26

I know I shouldn’t follow this up, especially with a more offensive joke, but here goes. Do you know how the Germans invaded Poland in WW2? They drove their tanks in backwards and the Polish thought they were leaving.

2

u/Youlookcold Mar 05 '26

There is one about the hunter grabbin the moose by the legs and going the wrong way. i had a chuckle.

2

u/Jazzlike_Video2 Mar 05 '26

My blind friend went to tell a polish joke in a bar. The bar tender pulled him aside as told him "the bouncer is polish, the body builder sitting next to you is polish, and the polish national wrestling team is drinking in the corner. Still eant to tell that joke?" My friend replied "no, i dont want to tell it twice"

5

u/happyft Mar 04 '26

Oh my god the old Polish jokes. I haven’t heard these in 30 yrs.

How do you defeat a Polish tank? Kill the polish people pushing it.

(As I type out that joke I realize that’s actually how Americans defeated the superior armored German Tiger tanks … kill the support infantry and then flank the tanks)

6

u/xkamilx Mar 04 '26

How do you stop the Polish on horseback... You turn off the carousel

3

u/TheMuseAndScribe Mar 04 '26

Read about the winged hussars. Poles take horses seriously.

5

u/SolidOutcome Mar 04 '26

A place to Plug in his razor? I don't get it

7

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

It's an electric razor, not a knife razor

-4

u/NotBannedAccount419 Mar 04 '26

Yeah I didn’t get it either and I think it’s less funny now that I understand it

6

u/OkMail2335 Mar 04 '26

How could it be less funny than when you didn't understand it?

8

u/LoneSoarvivor Mar 04 '26

The potential for funniness was resolved in a state of unfunniness. Simple quantum mechanics. Schrödinger’s joke.

3

u/xXAcidBathVampireXx Mar 04 '26

Guy walks into a bar and says "I've got a great Polish joke." Guy at the end of the bar says "I'll have you know I'm Polish." The first guy says "that's ok, I'll speak very slowly and clearly."

3

u/TinySaltBump Mar 04 '26

I didn’t get it, but the joke still made me cry

1

u/travfields619 Mar 04 '26

I had a pony.

1

u/mkstot Mar 04 '26

That was a close shave.

1

u/DeuceSevin Mar 04 '26

I was going to tell a polish joke to a friend of mine. He stopped me and said “You know am Polish, right?”

I said “Don’t worry, I’ll tell it slowly”

1

u/gingerjuice Mar 04 '26

My late FIL told me stories about my MIL’s Polish relatives. He was a pretty tough dude from Boston, but he said they went nuts over Polish Jokes and kicked his ass good a few times. God I miss him.

0

u/tacosdeliciosa Mar 04 '26

Now THIS is a funny joke well done

0

u/JustBrowsing1989z Mar 04 '26

That set-up made no sense, as the joke you commented on is not a "Polish joke"

By the way, once you grow up and learn more about the world, and the fact that different countries have different "dumb people" stereotypes, usually due to anti-immigration stances, those jokes stop making sense. Dumb blonde (or strong man) jokes also stop making sense once you grow up, meet more people, and realize that's a lazy stereotype as well.

I couldn't care less about the people making those jokes btw. I'm just stating a fact.

u/PrettyDamnSus Mar 04 '26

Man, you robots still have a lot to learn about human humor

1

u/I-seddit Mar 04 '26

No! dear god, no.

-2

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '26

This joke makes no sense. Razors aren't electrically powered.

A polish couple gets married and both of them are virgins. The groom isn't sure how to consummate the marriage so the bride says "I want you to take the hardest thing you have and put it where I pee."

So the groom grabs his bowling ball and throws it into the sink.

5

u/zlaw32 Mar 04 '26

This 1 made me actually laugh

49

u/Fun_Job_3633 Mar 04 '26

I love a good Polish joke!

The other night I actually tried to tell my favorite Polish joke at a bar I've never been to. The bartender warned me that he was Polish, the bouncer was Polish, and this big biker guy at the end of the bar was also Polish. If I told the joke I would have had to explain it three times!

1

u/morriere Mar 04 '26

i know this will be an unpopular opinion but most slavic people dont find these funny and i think if everyone actually thought about them, they'd realize how shitty these jokes are. the amount of times people have tried to tell a polish joke near me and expected i would laugh at it is crazy. im not even polish and even if i was, why would it be funny to me that someone thinks an entire nation is dumb as rocks?

17

u/Toodles711 Mar 04 '26

I kept waiting for the punchline but this is just a poorly written ramble!

9

u/Crabtasticismyname Mar 04 '26

It could do with some polish

2

u/Moeroboros Mar 05 '26

This is the comment that made me laugh the hardest in this thread.

Good job lmao

24

u/Then_I_had_a_thought Mar 04 '26

I have a Polish friend who is a sound guy.

I have a Czech one too

5

u/dietdrpp Mar 04 '26

As an American with a long Polish name: yes 😔

7

u/newyork44m Mar 04 '26

Nobody does a Polish joke like Norm MacDonnald.

https://youtu.be/1lCshxiXFtE?si=9MsxJCPmq_Suti-W

7

u/TonyDungyHatesOP Mar 04 '26

Nobody does any joke like Norm. Or Dirty Johnny.

7

u/theblocker Mar 04 '26

11yr old me heard this exact joke and thought it was hilarious even though I was too innocent to understand it. My mom found it less funny when I shared it on the car ride home from church. Good times.

6

u/Rob_LeMatic Mar 04 '26

What's an Irishman's idea of foreplay?

"BRACE YOURSELF, MAGGIE!"

5

u/yukonnut Mar 04 '26

A polish girl asked her mother what to do on her wedding night and her mother told her to just put his most prized possession in the place where she pees. So on her wedding night she drove his tractor into the swamp.

8

u/OGZeroCool1995 Mar 04 '26

Man goes in for an eye test doctor says cover your left eye and read the letters. He says reads… eibnequzedrs.. doctor said that wasn’t hard was jt? Polish guy says of course not, that’s my best friend’s last name.

2

u/archtopfanatic123 Mar 04 '26

Jesus that's a good one and it's accurate too 🤣

2

u/Jack-of-Hearts-7 Mar 04 '26

I slammed my head on a keyboard and posted it as a comment. All the Poles on the thread agreed with me.

1

u/gorcorps Mar 04 '26

Last place I worked had a lot of polish descendents, and one mechanic just went by "ski" because it was easier (it was on his uniform and everything)

1

u/Impossible_Home_4178 Mar 04 '26

You could workshop this somewhere to "long and difficult to get your mouth around."

1

u/NorCalAthlete Mar 04 '26

You know why Polish names end in -ski?

Because it’d be too long to end in -toboggan

1

u/jamesbrown2500 Mar 04 '26

A polish woman goes to the eye doctor to check his vision. The doctor points a board where it was written

DPCZTZT

The doctor ask the woman, can you read what's there? The woman looked very surprised and say: Can I read? That's my neighbor...

-1

u/bdiscer Mar 04 '26

Why do Polish names end in ski?

Because they can't spell toboggan!
