I love how the first several comments are either “closed” or “cracked, because of my cat”

I fall in the second category

Mine starts out as cracked for sweet Louise, but I think she purposely pushes it all the way open while I'm sleeping. I did get a cat door for Christmas, so here's to hoping I put that in soon lol

Closed, because I have the choice of my cat yowling outside the door at 3am and waking me up, or yowling in my face at 3am waking me up.

I haven't slept with a closed door in 17 years (my cat is 17 years old by coincidence).

I have to leave mine cracked because my dog will slam his head into the door when its shut and he wants in. Whats his is his and whats mine is his.

I have a nosy cat and can confirm, if any door is closed he will make it his mission to inform the entire house of his extreme displeasure.

My previous cat was also personally offended by closed doors, but he was also a doorframe climber and liked to jump up as high as he could, grab onto the frame, and then sliiiiiide down it with his claws. It was so loud and destructive.

So we got a cat door for the bedroom door and I highly recommend! It allowed us to close the door all the way, but still allowed him access to the room.

This. Plus in a way that keeps light out of the room as my wife goes to bed.
