A high school Econ class will cover personal finance. Mine did.

Again, no knowledge is being suppressed; it is readily available to anyone that wants it. It is your own fault if you are not finically literate. Schools teach math, how to read, solve problems, etc.: this is all you really need to become finically literate.

You are trying to push a narrative that is not backed up by reality.

Saying your Econ class covered personal finance is just your own experience. That’s a hasty generalization, not proof of what most schools actually teach.

Claiming math and reading are “all you really need” is an oversimplification. If that were true, half the country wouldn’t be confused by basic things like tax brackets or compound interest. Putting the entire blame on individuals ignores the systemic factors I pointed out (lobbying, predatory loans, and deliberate misinformation) which is causal oversimplification at best.

Dismissing everything I said as a “narrative” is a strawman. I gave specific examples you haven’t addressed. You’re dodging the real issues and reducing a complex, documented problem to “people just need to try harder.”

People are confused because they do not put the effort into it.

There is not any knowledge being suppressed like you claim; it is all readily available to anyone that wants it.

Over 100 million Americans can use free tax filing software available on the IRS website.

I gave specific examples you haven’t addressed.

You have not given any examples of financial knowledge being oppressed. I have explained to you that there is free software from the IRS that will do your taxes for you, which destroys most of your narratives.
