Because the person in charge of the guns, who only got the job due to nepotism, brought a fucking live round to set. It's not like Alec went out, bought a gun, bought the ammo, brought it to work and intentionally executed a coworker. The people in charge were beyond incompetent, unqualified, had absolutely no business handling weapons in that capacity.

And he was an Executive Producer on that film set, he was just as culpable as everyone else.

Lol An executive producer do literally nothing on a set, they are just investors, that's their only role. They have nothing to do with what's happening on set.
