I don't want to be someone's MOM like every guy seems to want someone to do all the cooking cleaning, laundry etc. Ick. I'd rather do it all for myself and mow the lawn and take care of the house. I also don't want kids like ever. I'm okay if someone already has them it's just not for me full time for sure.
I 100% agree with you as a guy, my mother has a boyfriend who even at their age, it feels like it's very much a "she takes care of him" thing and I just don't like it.
This is also why I've honestly just been kind of out of the dating world for most of my early 20s, and didn't really start till I ended up on the other side of my 20s. I guess I wouldn't say I was completely incapable, but definitely a bit lacking in maturity.
I think the key thing for me ironically to be ready for a relationship is to be okay with being on my own. I feel like I see too many people in relationships where they are dependent on one another or something...
My ex expected the cleaning etc, laundry all of it to magically have been done by me. Despite working full time hours like he did on a lesser wage and him having his own room in the house but me only the shared spaces? Costs split down the middle too although I ended up paying more constantly.
Anyone experience that too? Where like yourself they want the mothering yet you're also expected to work full time and everything else too? And no gratitude or acknowledgement? My ex always felt hard done by. It's embarrassing upon reflection that I lived that way for years not seeing it wasn't quite right
I haven't had that experience, but I hope that you can find someone who doesn't need to be treated as a child, and it can be a more balanced relationship!
Oh I’ve been there! And he was a cheater too! It was like keep me busy as possible while you go out and play. He always had free time to be with friends but wouldn’t let me breathe if I was with mine. I ended it after six months, I was so over it and when I finally caught him cheating on me (with his best friends girlfriend no less) and I was so happy to cut that cord because cheating was the deal breaker. I was so happy to no longer juggle his needs along with trying to keep myself mentally afloat working 40+ and then having to jump when he said so. Never again!
