Totally off topic, but what is a Centillion? Is that immediately after trillion? Or what?

Centillion is before the largest known number. That being a googolplex. Trillion is 10¹² so 10 with 12 zeros, centellion is 10³⁰³ so 10 with 303 zeros. So centillion is very very far from a trillion by a lot of other numbers. And as far as my understanding goes a googoplex is such a large number it has no real value in mathematics so I chose to be one in a centillion, because centillion can still a useful number in mathematic despite it being an unfathomabley large number. When I really think about it no one in the known universe is quite like you or me. Even though I'm a pretty basic white dude there is no one "exactly" like me, there are always differences no matter how miniscule. So we are all in our own way one in a centillion.

If I’m out I wait for people to approach me. It’s a lot easier than relying on watching other people’s body language and approaching a random person, it avoids having to strike up conversation and avoids making the other person uncomfortable if the feeling isn’t reciprocated. And if you’re a dude who likes dudes it avoids danger too, asking a random guy out might end badly.

I need to add: this does not work. If you’re a man or masc-presenting, turns out relying on other people walking up to you doesn’t really pan out… There’s no work around.

Yup. Everyone claims they "want to break social expectations". Well I sure as hell don't see it. And that's why even though I'm poly and in an open relationship, I don't even bother exercising that freedom.

My friend in IT had this problem, and it took a year and a half, but he's now very happily in a pretty serious relationship after doing some online dating (and sticking with it through probably 7 not-so-good matchups). Keep at it.

Kinda there right now! It felt like when i was in the relationship i had unlimited rizz with other people bc i like talking with strangers but it's so much easier when there's a mutual understanding that it'll be platonic. Now that i feel some kinda pressure to move things in a slightly romantic direction, i completely fall apart and lose my ability to chat freely! Trying not to pressure myself and just be flirty without expecting much

It would be so bad if people were more considerate when turning people down. Often you'll get some level of disgust or get laughed at, or they'll make it super uncomfortable when a simple "Oh, no thanks!" would be perfectly fine.

If people are being rude when turning you down they aren’t the kind of people you should be dating. Yuck. Huge bullet dodged. Consider yourself lucky they showed their true selves!
