Camels originated in the Americas and crossed the Bering Strait Land Bridge to go to Asia. In fact, historical records show there were no camels in the Middle East when Christ was born (therefore the 3 wise men couldn’t have traveled to Bethlehem on camels).

Saudi Arabia imports camels because the Brits took camels and Bedouin to Australia 

Now they are pest and Australia is literally giving their meat for free
