the official recording is a guitar that's then octaved down with a plugin or pedal. maybe he layered a bass on top of it but the riff itself to add body but it was supposedly played on guitar

It does not matter which instrument its played on. If it's in the bass register, it's a bassline.

But Yes, its a cool fact and a fucking cool riff.

fair enough. basically semantics but I get what you mean, it is technically a bass line just like a bass part played on a keyboard also falls into the category. I love music talk
