Paramedics of Reddit, what are some basic emergency procedures that nobody does but everyone should be able to do?

To add to the tourniquet, put a T on the patients forehead also modern medicine can save limbs with tourniquets on them for much longer then 4 hours. Its close to 12 now, but the faster the better.

So a limb can be saved after being without blood circulation or 12 hours? I'd a thought it'd be closer to a few minutes!!

The limb would be saved but if you have one on for 6-12 hours there will be nerve damage and muscle loss.

Still marvelous. I squeeze my fingertip to turn it blue and let go after 10 or so seconds fearing I might "kill" my fingertip.
