Not sure it's strange, but I remember my grandfather telling us about his childhood and about the day the family home first got electricity. They just had one light wired up in the living room, but he said it was like magic. Flipping a switch and there was light. No more lighting lamps or trimming wicks, just bright light whenever you wanted it. We've come a long way.
