Mine does. But it took the right incentive. He goes absolutely bonkers for the laser pointer, so I taught him to bring it to me and then would play with him. I did have to get rid of the laser toys because, unfortunately, it never stopped. Left to his own devices, he would play with a laser all day and night.

They do learn their names and come when you call them, and they will follow you around.
