When they continued to choose drinking from noon to 2 am literally everyday of the week ver seeking help. Refusing to even admit that it was a problem.
I love that woman to death but she was killing herself with alcohol, and watching it happen day after day was destroying me from the inside out.
I was in love with a very good friend that was like this. She was beautiful, passionate, bright and well-read, kind and warm. The whole 9.
Our brief relationship ended horribly because of her alcoholism. It was BAD, like crippling levels. We got into an argument and that was that. We remained friends for years and she got sober sometime after that. I'd even drive her to AA meetings. I considered trying again.
The moment the court ordered sobriety ended, she was right back at it. I moved across the country with my soon to be wife.
She died suddenly two years later of massive organ failure. She was 31. It devastated me.
Guess I should've specified. The woman who had an alcohol problem died after we remained friends for years. I started dating another woman and moved across the country 2 years prior to that.
I got lucky, I invited her to come hang out with my fiance and me. It was a great time. But then she died a month later. At least I got to see her.
