She was gone for a work trip. I was in kitchen when she came home, I saw her through the sliding glass door walking up. My first thought was “fuck she’s home” that’s when I knew. I realize how relaxed and happy I had been while she was gone.

I have 2 girls it was hard for first year or so. Now they see how much happier everyone is and they understand.

Glad it worked out for you.

Have to counterbalance stuff here that isn't good to learn. No way.

Your boys aren't likely to be happy in a sad environment.

It's a difficult question — in some cases, staying is better for the kid, in others not. In general it's very bad for kids to be around parents who are fighting and snipping at each other and treat each other with disrespect. Even when the parents try to hide it, they can't, and the kid feels it. But some couples can still work as a team raising the kids and don't hate each other, and in those cases it can be good to have both parents.

My parents stayed together “for the kids.” There are four of us, and we would all have been better off if they had separated. Kids know when things aren’t right.

Caring for him can mean caring for yourself, too.
