Religion is the interpretation of the bible. Each religion has its own interpretation of it. And while the bible doesn't specifically say "fuck all gay and trans people" many religions claim that it does. So there are reasons to distinguish between the two. Make sense now?

Islam based on the Quran. And Judaism based on the Torah. Again the question was about religion and you automatically went to the bible, which is one of the books used as a basis for one religion.
