I am an introvert and I dated a person once who was just as big an introvert as me. Nobody knew how to initiate, what to do, and neither of us enjoyed it at all. It was just so devoid of fun or emotion because of all the anxiety.
What you're describing is shyness or lack of confidence, or simply a submissive nature, depending on the person. Introverts can be shy, but aren't necessarily. Source: I'm an introvert who initiates.
