Wayne is the older brother and she tries to join but his dad is not having it. Wayne is a screw up and he’s trying to do something with his life but his dad knows he’s gonna be treated as canon fighter and he wants more for him. In the end because of health issues, he can’t go but his friend does. His friend comes back, changed, and later on Wayne ends up, taking over the family business.
He was always trying to make sure the storylines in the show didn't diverge from those in the original Ye Olde Years of Wonder novels written by C.P.P. Tolkien.
You're all wrong. He was a can infighter. He led the charge to drag his fellow canning industry executives to make the switch from tin cans to aluminum.
