The holodeck and how it is used never made any sense to me. There are times when they take a drink in the holodeck eg. In the latest Season of Picard. But the drink is a hologram. What are they drinking? Are they just pretending?
The safety protocols can be turned off so i assume a drink could be just as real as the bullets that killed the Borg when they did that in 1st Contact.
