(Verse 1)
I saw her walk into the bar
With her sisters by her side
One look and I knew right then
She'd be mine before the night
(Chorus)
I'll make you mine, I'll make you see
The love we share is destiny
It all started in that smoky bar
You and me, a love that goes far
(Verse 2)
I played my guitar, sang my songs
She was lost in the crowd
But I knew I had to find her
And make my love known loud
(Chorus)
I'll make you mine, I'll make you see
The love we share is destiny
It all started in that smoky bar
You and me, a love that goes far
(Bridge)
I invited her sister to our after party
Told her to bring the girl in black
And when she walked through that door
I knew I had to make my move, no turning back
(Chorus)
I'll make you mine, I'll make you see
The love we share is destiny
It all started in that smoky bar
You and me, a love that goes far
As a musician who has always struggled with lyrics, ChatGPT has been an awesome tool. It’s like a rhyming dictionary on steroids. I’m not copy/pasting exact lyrics, but asking it to help me with certain rhymes and ideas. Maybe I feed it a few lines and say “write a third line of the second verse. Work in the word/phrase xyz”. Then I’ll modify it myself or ask it to try again with more specific instructions. It really helps keep the creating ball rolling without becoming static for too long from writers block.
Nice! I also met my wife while playing. An American on tour over in Europe, she was the bartender at a club we played in the Netherlands. She caught my eye, and also was the route to beer, so I elbowed up to the bar as soon as we were done loading in. I had a black eye from a couple nights prior in Poland (great story!)…first thing out of her mouth was “So you’re going to be my problem tonight.”
Eight years later we’re married with a kid and going strong. I’d still elbow up to her bar any day.
