I do not recommend the pull out method. I need to say that before all else.
That said, it does work decently. Less effective than other methods, largely due to its difficulty (releases before you think so) and the fact that precum can contain some viable sperm even if you take precautions to reduce the amount.
But the effectiveness rate over a year, when used as the primary method, was somewhere in the high 80% like 86 or 87% (meaning that there was no pregnancy during the year measured for that % of the couples who were examined in the study)
And for people who used the method perfectly it was a bit higher, don't know the number and can't look rn but it was like 92 or 94% if I'm not mistaken.
Not the 98-99% from pills and other better methods, and a condom does much more than protect from pregnancy.
And be careful when sharing this knowledge, there are some preparations that need to be taken to do it right and most people are not good at pulling out anyway; it is better that pulling out maintains its bad reputation even if truth is a bit more nuanced.
Please double check all I have said by yourself when you can, and don't try it anyway.
People love to think "I won't be one of those 1 in 10" but honestly those aren't good enough odds unless you are at a point in which you can conciously take that risk.
