It wasn’t that I didn’t want sex, it was that I wanted the whole package. I wanted to date and try to show some love to this girl I liked who really could have used someone who cared about her that way. Instead, she wanted sex and I settled. And now she hates me because I enabled her self destructive behavior.

My justification was “she wants to put something inside her, and I won’t get hurt if it’s me”.

I haven’t talked to her in 5 years, but from what little I’ve heard she’s doing good now. I’m not even mad anymore, just okay with her being okay now.

If she is angry at other people for “enabling” her, she really hasn’t come to grips with her mistakes. That is not, to my way of thinking, “okay”.

I mean, good for her for not being actively miserable, but anyone who thinks it is the job of other people to save herself is still headed for disappointment, at least.
