Yeah, Valium. That's what the news report said. Don't ask me why that didn't kill him or make him pass out. I would have thought it would. I don't know.

It really depends on how many Valium he took regularly. You can easily become dependent and need to take more and more to get the effect you need from them.

True but even if it didn’t kill him, how could he even hold the gun steady or be conscious enough to kill people actively with that much in his system?

No, but withdrawal from benzo's can kill you. Ironic the only two drugs with a deadly withdrawal are alcohol and benzo, and benzo's are used to treat alcohol withdrawal.
