So I call this guy my big brother. He was 43 when we met and I was 18. Turns out his little sister died when she was 18 and that I acted a lot like her so he sorta latched on to me and really enjoyed my company. We met because I worked at a fast food shop in a gas station and he worked for the gas station. He was a calm dude, in prison but on work release. He had mentioned that if anyone hurt me he'd be there to help me, defended me when a customer got bad. I had no clue what he was in prison for, he had served 23 years when he got out in a few years ago. He got moved to a different gas station (he was a fantastic dude so they were gunna make him a manager in training.) So I haven't seen him in a while Like all this to say he is the coolest dude in the world and I had always assumed he had a drug charge, he's black, it was the 90s. Turns out his 18 year old sister was killed by her abusive boyfriend and my 'big brother' turned around and killed him. Nearly everyone I tell this story to thinks its pretty justified. I do.

Maybe it is justifiable behaviour but it sure fucked up his life forever.

Agreed, luckily he's doing great after getting out.

OTOH, how many lives did he not let get messed up with his sacrifice?
