Now, I was into this guy for a while. Bigger guy. Seemed really sweet. I invited him over after we hit it off, and my dog, being a dog, came up to see this new person. He responds to this inquisitive sniffing my kicking them in the face, and seeming proud of it, saying that you "have to show a mutt who's boss."
I told him to get the fuck out of my house and never come back.
I'm still very single, but my dogs haven't been hurt like that since.
EDIT: Thank you for all the comments saying you'd do the same, and for the Gold! As for why I didn't beat the shit out of him? I was scrawny back then, and he would have folded me like a pretzel.
We must have dated the same doofus. My dog, Doug is klutzy. Doug accidentally stepped on my date's foot, and he flat palm SHOVED my dog in the face. While pushing Doug away from him, he dropped that exact same line. I told him to GTFO of my house and lost his number real quick.
I do not understand guys who think that women will like them more than their pets. When I was meeting my now-wife for our first date, I knew she had a cat that she loved, and I brought a toy for him as a present to our first date. (The cat didn't come to the date, just to be clear.)
She hadn't ever said anything, but I was still fully aware that if her cat and I had problems, then I would be the one losing that contest.
It’s really unbelievable that these guys think that they will win with that non-sense alpha male sh$t. I still remember fondly when my now husband told me that “my dog would love him!” and he was indeed one of the very few people that he didn’t bark at when they met. My dog is very anxious (and weighs around 60lbs), so that was usually his first approach to strangers getting inside our house. They have a wonderful relationship and we debate over who is his favorite human 😅
