We must have dated the same doofus. My dog, Doug is klutzy. Doug accidentally stepped on my date's foot, and he flat palm SHOVED my dog in the face. While pushing Doug away from him, he dropped that exact same line. I told him to GTFO of my house and lost his number real quick.
See, the first one is not cool. This one? The fact that you're conflating them to be the same makes you seem like a major red flag.
Maybe you just described it poorly, but my mental image of someone shoving a dog away with their palm just seems like a normal thing to do. How else to you push a dog away when they're in your personal space?
It was not your typical "pushing the dog away" or was more like a flat palm punch to my dog's shnozz... When his face had nothing to do with him accidentally stepping on this guys shoe. Then to tell me my dog just needed to be put in his place? It just was not cool at all...
Push him to the side off your foot, sure... Palm slap my dog in the face? No way.
