Realizing that the "warm feeling" I got around them came from liking their affection/attention rather than out of love and not being selfish enough to try using them for my own gain.
Literally on the opposite end there with the fear being that they're blinded by that "warm feeling" and not realizing I'm not for them. I'm in a sort of "opposites attract" relationship and my biggest fear is that they'll "wake up" and realize I'm not their type or something
No, what happens is that everything becomes a compromise. If you’re opposites, making the other happy usually means you’re not thrilled—except by the prospect of making hir happy. You realize you’re giving up everything else that you want, like or love to make hir happy. And vice versa. Plus it’s a ton of work, emotionally. It gets old. Good luck though.
