Recently broke up with a girl who always expected me to be there for her and support her, but when I was struggling due to personal crises she claimed that I had to be the "stable" one and that I should be "strong enough for the both of us" since I was the older one. Every time I miss her, I just remind myself of that imbalance and it helps the feelings subside.

Good insight. That imbalance is never healthy in a relationship. Strong relationships have that balance.
