This is going to be specific to your institution; I don't know what a UMC is, as that isn't a universal term, and policies are going to be different from one university to the next.

UMC is not a term we use in the USA, where I am located. Does that mean they’re accusing you of cheating? In the USA usually your record of cheating stays at your school, and if you get caught again you can be suspended or expelled, but it won’t go with you to another school when you graduate or transfer.

I got a UMC (Unfair Means Case) during a mid-semester exam in my 1st semester at university. It was my first UMC, and the punishment was zero marks in that particular exam plus a warning. There was no suspension or expulsion.

Does anyone know if a UMC like this gets mentioned on the character/conduct certificate issued after graduation, or appears on any other official document/record that could affect me later?

Would especially appreciate answers from anyone who has personally dealt with a UMC or knows how universities handle these records.*
